It is a wine that comes from two vineyards located in a small basin ,surrounded by woods, to the west, in the Frascole hill.
First year of production: 2016
Vineyard description:Soils with a clay loam composition, originating from the disintegration of the Vicchio Marls (sea and clay marls), with a predominance of the clay component.
Altitude:250 a.s.l. Vineyard exposure: west.
Training system: spurred cordon
Year of planting: 2001.
Planting density: 5,000 vines/ha
Grapes 100 % Pinot Noir
Winemaking technique: the grape harvest, performed completely by hand, begins around early September. The harvest is placed in small boxes containing about 10 kg of grapes each. The grapes are destemmed and fermented in open tonneaux or small
concrete tanks.
Upon racking, the wine goes into 225 It barrels where it stays for about 12 months.
It is then blended in cement tanks and after about 5 months bottled. It is aged in bottle for one year.
